I am a 5D Mark III user, and make frequent use of the spot-AF mode as you describe. To switch between AF modes on the 5D Mark III the first thing is: DO NOT BE IN AUTO MODE (The green one on the dial). This will automatically select all 61 points as potential AF points and you can't change it. Use P/Av/Tv or M mode. On 1.5 firmware I had encountered an issue, which is present on 1.5.1 and is also present on 1.5.2 and 16. I always prefer to shoot on servo using the AF-on button with the center autofocus point as my initial point of focus that locks on whatever I want it to lock on and stays locked on Coming to you from Jared Polin, this excellent video takes a look at adapted lens autofocus performance using an EF-to-RF adapter on the Canon EOS R5 and EOS R6 cameras. The autofocus system on This Canon EF EOS 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II works perfectly with every Canon EOS camera ever made, meaning every Canon DSLR and every Canon autofocus 35mm camera made since 1987. This means of course it works great on today's 5D Mark II and Canon 7D, but it works just as well on my original Canon EOS 620 from 1987! It seems that the autofocus on my T5i is not focusing on what it intends to. It seems to be truely in focus a little behind what the camera will beep saying is in focus. It is especially noticeable with my 50mm f1.8 with a narrow depth of field. I use single point autofocus and the camera will say it is focused on a certain point in the frame That's making me think, that the new Canon 6d mark II has a problem with the old Tamron 24-70mm f 2.8. And the problem is in the software or something like that. I realy hope that problem is going to be solved realy soon with the next firmare update. It's verry didisappointing because the same 24-70mm Tamron doesn't have the same problem with I wondering how auto focus goes with the 5DIV at F8. It says work better than 5DIII. Also how is the 1,4xIII on the lens, I had II, it was not very good. thanks. Well I have not had a chance to BIF because all the birds froze and dropped. Maybe this weekend. For whatever reason my 1.4 III needs a lot of MFA with that lens. +13. The Canon 5D Mark II now has two styles of autofocus operation in Live View mode: the standard phase detection method, which requires the reflex mirror to be briefly swung back into the optical AGja.
